Our mission is to carry out the mandate that our Lord and Saviour set out:
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Mat 28:19-20
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Act 1:8
Where we come from:
I had been the Pastor of Faith Baptist Church Pietermaritzburg, ministering in the Bisley Valley area since 2008. After seeing many people saved and several baptized, with no real significant growth numerically or otherwise. I had realized that I had the privileged of leading more people to Christ in and around the Albert Falls area than I had in Pietermaritzburg. If one considers how many tracts I had given out, and doors I had knocked on, in comparison to the area I am living in at the moment: I have led more people to Christ locally and in a much shorter period in the Albert falls area. This made me realize that the Spirit of God was moving in this direction and not where we were based in Bisley.
With all this in mind, I took this information to the Church and discussed it with them. It was unanimously decided that the Church should move and align itself with where God is working. We have done so, unfortunately it closed the Church down in Pietermaritzburg, yet my ministering moved on.
We closed the Church doors at Bisley Park School in the beginning of 2014. In the interim God had opened a door for me to minster to the prisoners at New Hanover. God had also opened another door for me to minster to the “forgotten people”. That is, those who are suffering from addiction (An addiction is any repeated behaviour that is bad for you).
Consequently, I am now involved with an addiction recovery program in Hillcrest and in Pietermaritzburg.
Where we are going:
As Reformers Unanimous also caters to the Institutionalized, I have introduced their program the New Hanover Prison. God has certainly opened several doors and we are starting to see people saved and grounded in the truth of Christ “…and you shall know the Truth and the truth shall make you free” John 8:32
It is also my intent to start a local Recovery Program at Thokazani Township (Population of approx 10 000), which in turn will allow me to Church plant. The program helps people with their addiction by leading them to Christ, steering them into a local Church, where they become grounded in the truth, serving God through the local Church and becoming model citizens for Christ. This is the direction that God is taking me into an area of minstery that I had not thought of… Praise God for His leading!
